Ok, couple of things to go by first, when are they fighting, and which incarnation are you talking about?
Superman and Batman have fought before in comics, but I do not think a clear winner has ever been established.
Overall, it would be a close fight. Batman knows Superman's weakness in Comics and holds a piece of Kryptonite in a Lead box. If you go by Frank Millers Dark Knight Returns, Batman did win the fight.
Superman also was without powers after Infinite Crisis. Without his powers, he is no where as trained and skilled as Batman at fighting.
Superman may have advantages of Superpowers, but he has 2 weaknesses, Kryptonite as mentioned, and Magic (as well as the whole being a battery for Yellow Sunlight, and if he runs out of it he is powerless, or the Red Sun could drain him as well). Batman is an expert tactician and has a lot of Magical villians he has fought, and may have some of their equipment in his Batcave.
I guess my money is on Batman, although Superman should have been able to win!

They HAVE and batman won.
Not only was he winning in frank miller's dark knight returns.
But in the sequel to dark knight returns he beat superman to within an inch of superman's life and finished with "now get out of my cave".
Superman can NEVER beat batman. supposedly batman keeps kryptonite on or available to him for the possibility that he will have to fight superman. Batman is not some bald-*** lex luthor, he is a calculating obsessed expert strategist who studies his friends weaknesses as well as his enemies. He will never lose to superman no matter how strong or powerfull superman is.
besides, batman kicking superman's *** seems to be a favorite dc occurance.
chuck norris on the other hand, would roundhouse kick them both 900 billion years into the future.
Neither superman or batman are a match for chuck's beard!

Superman could win, simply by not announcing his attack, or attacking Batman from afar with his heat vision.
Batman is the best at what he does, as long as he gets to prepare ahead of time. If he had no idea Superman was out to get him, he would be no match for him. Superman has super speed, superbreath, super hearing, super sight, super strength, flight, and invulnerability to most things except Kryptonite.
It's not talked about by most people for some strange reason, but Super man also has a higher intelligence than Batman, due to his homeworlds teachings being light years ahead of Earths. He may have been sent to Earth as a child, but his father Jor-El passed on this knowledge to Clark Kent/Superman in the form of crystals at the fortress of solitude.
Batman on the other hand is an excellent detective and martial artist. However, underneath it all, he's still just a mortal man.

Bruce Wayne is a rich guy. Clark Kent is just a reporter. Superman has superpowers, Batman doesn't. Superman fights guys with superpowers, Batman fights guys with no superpowers. Superman is not a real character, Batman is...wait a minute. Batman also isn't a real character.
Don't you have anything else to think about?

Batman is smarter. It has been shown in the comics over and over the respect and fear that Superman has for Batman. Superman is powerful, but is known for charging into a situation without ever thinking ahead. Batman has a back-up plan for every situation, and a back-up plan for every back-up. He has taken down Superman before, and can do it again. After all, he does keep a Kryptonite ring in his utility belt.

They HAVE fought in the comics numerous times and (if I counted correctly) Batman has got 7 wins over Superman's 2 wins. The two best fights IMO would be in graphic novels "Hush" and "The Dark Knight Returns" (which are awesome books in their own right, I suggest you pick them up)

They did fight in Frank Miller's "The Dark Knight Returns" and Batman kicked Superman's butt until Batman's heart gave out and he died during the fight.

Haha....first of all they never used to fight until Frank Miller made Dark Knight returns. But if they were to fight, it would be Superman. They are the two best characters in comics and Superman cannot be defeated unless by himself. And no, Superman was not defeated by
Doomsday. But ***** please, Superman would win.

Batman--all he has to do is whip out his piece of kryptonite, which weakens Superman, thereby enabling Batman to beat Superman.
