I have a house built in 1958 that had gas added to the fireplace. What should I be aware of regarding getting it working? I asked my handyman to look at it and I wonder what type of professional could fix it? My chimney sweep said to get a plumber to take out the gas line but I would rather get it to work. Who do you suggest I hire to fix it and what should I look out for? I want to fix it lowest cost but safely.

SOME OF THEM ARE JUST A 1/2" BLACK PIPE WITH HOLES IN IT. ANY PLUMBER, GAS COMPANY OR FIREPLACE STORE SHOULD HAVE YOUR REPLACEMENT PART AND OR FIX VERY RESONABLE
