The best part of childhood is all those things you mentioned. Because of the innocence, nothing is seen through tainted eyes. Everything is seen as it is. Always with a positive spin. So much wonder and excitement of new discoveries, people. Having the faith to do things that adults are terrified of, being brave and picking up grasshoppers and touching tigers at a zoo (The cat under the couch)!
The little things breed such enlightenment and hope. I think it's everyone's hope to have that innocence back so they can really enjoy life. We all can see through a child's eyes if we try.

Without directly admitting your Q is confusing, but in being a poet and having lived long, I suggest this.
"The better part of my life was in youth.
In it there was innocence and truth.
Milky ways and baby Ruth,
people of kindness, and those uncouth.
Learning, became the curve,
and occasionally I admit, I did swerve,
was it better to "BE" or serve,
to compromise or have STEEL as nerve?
Certainly I have emerged,
and often foolishy I have "splurged"
and too have been thought a scourge,
but refuse yet, to compose my Dirge."

Definately innocence. When we were innocent life had next to no complications. We were happy, because we had no idea of the burdens of life, the need to fit into a societal sector, that life was more than lollipops and bike rides. Young love was making a valentine for the boy next door. A bag of chips could make your whole day. It all seems to wistful to me.

Yes, the two things you said:
innocence. Lack of the knowledge of the real cruelty of the world. Believing in things that couldn't possibly be true because of this lack of knowledge. There's less to worry about in general. Nobody has a boyfriend, nobody has to go to work.

Not having to go to school ... honest, that's the end of childhood. Fortunately, we get it back after graduating from school My childhood hasn't ended since and I doubt it never will.

It's easier to make friends with anyone because kids share the same interests. As an adult, it's sometimes hard to find people who like the same things you do.
