It really depends on the year model car you have. Newer models do not have a idle screw, it's controlled by an idle air control motor. If this is the case, It's easy to diagnos. Take a small hammer and lightly tap on it, and you should notice you engine stop stalling at stops. If so, change Idle air control motor.
If you need to know where the motor is, I would have to know the year, make and model of your car.
If you do have a older car, then find you throttle cable, you should see where it rotates on the throttle body or carburator. You should notice a small screw directly infront of it. Rotate the screw clockwise to increase, counter clockwise to decrease RPM. Hope this helps.

if you got a computer in your car, then the computer sets the idle, but if you got a carb.,then its right by the throttle linkage on the drivers side.now theres 2 of them, make sure your not getting the fast idle, that works the choke.its the other screw right by the fast idle screw.

fuel injected vehicles have idle regulated by the computer... now if you have a old vehicle (not fuel injected) all you need to do is turn the idle screw on the carb that pushes the throttle higher

you cant. if the ck engine lite is on go to zone or advance for FREE scan.. low idle is usually caused by car needing tune up or oxygen sensor or temperature sensor.
