Sat early morning tv - I always switch on to a shouting kids presenter! WHY are they shouting? We do have a volume button1

It is the only way to get the kids to pay attention. If you sound like their parents maybe they will listen to you. Kids have 10 second attention spans. Parents yell at their kids all the time, so the TV show guys yell at them also, its comforting....LOL

That's always bothered me too. I think it because the tv companies encourage the kids in the audiences to shout and scream so it looks like they are enjoying themselves and often the presenters can't hear themselves if they don't shout over the top of the screams. I think they are fed directions over earpieces too sometimes and so they have a lot to contend with. Best to turn over or turn the volume down like you said

i know what u mean - my son is 4 years old, and i'm constantly having to adjust the volume on the tv, depending on which kids program is on. a lot of the really noisy presenters are little more than kids themselves, and i'm guessing that they're fresh out of drama school, where they have been taught how to 'project' their voices..... which is great if u are going in for a career on the stage, but not so necessary for tv.....

because children need to be shouted at or else the don't pay attention, or atleast this is how their parents have unknowingly taught them to act, and of course TV presenters doing it just re inforces it meaning that they are more likely to do it [it being a sort of verbal abuse, a sort of verbal violence] to others and eventially to their own children.

they have to emphasis the point that they are trying to get across. Children have a low attention span and need to see livliness in order to keep in focus.

Lack of culture. They also think that children are stupid. It is just the opposite, children are better -and easier- listeners than adults.

i don't find that problem with cbeebies (which my 2 watch at every available opportunity) but i do think that 90% of the males look (stereo-typical) gay
