Probably all the s h i t on TV and music video's, they make it seem like that is the "thing" to do.

Look at the television, the music, etc...during the 50's,60's and even 70's the television sitcom showed very little if any thing that was provacative. Very little profanity. Clean images for the most part. The breakdown of the family is another reason. Whether one will admit it our not, we are seeing the consequences of not worshipping God and worshipping false gods. Look at the breakdown of the public schools. The violence is schools is crazy today. We have taken God our of the schools and we are seeing the results. It's not pretty. But we can change the course. It is never to late. We must put God first in our lives. Mother Teresa once said "the family that prays together, stays together". Hard to dispute that versus a family that does not pray together.

Because we actually hear about it today. My grandmother got married at age 15!!!!!! so she had teen sex, but in those days it was normal for minors from ages 15 - 18 to get married, it was like a custom, and no-one ever said anything to them. Plus nowadays we know about Aids and sexually transmitted diseases and the only way to find out about them and know how to protect yourself is to actually talk about specially in that stage where their hormones are flying to the roof.
Sure TV, radio, Internet, music are explicit about it, but they grew up with it so it's normal to them, they're not following TV patterns they just lack guidance 'cause parents aren't around so they just interpret things as they come whether they do it reasonably or not. Parents and a lot of adults talk to kids as if they were grown ups and they expect them to act like grown ups before their time, and when they do.. they think it's through sex 'cause that's what grown ups talk about and that's the time when parents start to worry and say things like they're to young and that they are just children, the youth is confused and adults don't know how to lead.

Because that is all they know. Television, The Internet, Movies, Music, and Society in general. Sex is everywhere, and young children feel the need to explore it. There is no alternative. There are more Bars in America than Roller Skate Rinks.

I would have to say it's a mix of our lost society, a lack of parental guidance, and most importantly spiritual guidance. Sex is all the media shows and then when teens don't have someone to show them the right way in an effective way, we get confused.

There has always been teen sex. We just have now actually noticed it more. We talk about it more. Yes its on tv and internet but I think thats why we have noticed it more as well. My great grandmother lived to be 100 and she told me some crazy stories they did when she was younger they just didnt talk about it.

Because of the way life styles are presented in the media, e.g. movies, television, and commercials. When young hormone crazed kids are bombarded with media presentation of highly sexual behavior as the "in" thing, what else can one expect?
