If my husband retired and we still needed an income to live, I would naturally expect him to take care of the house if I had to go to work/continue to work full time. The person who stays home takes care of the house. If both parties work, the house work should be split.

My husband works now and will be years before he retires. I am at home and still do not cook or clean lol.. that's why people have kids isn't it? So when he retires??? Well he better start investing if he don't want to cook and clean for our future maid.

We both work and we both do the housework and the cooking! I expect we'll carry on in a similar way when we retire...

Gracious no!!! :) My husband is a great provider, and a super person... but the man can burn water and the house looks worse after he 'cleans' it than it did when he started! I may go to work part time, sure enough, but I suppose I will always be the nest keeper in our family! I don't mind... he has worked all this time and always did his share and then some.. he's earned a break! :)

I do some of the housework and cooking now. With more free time, I'd do more.

Wife and Husband are a team! If my husband retires or is still working, I would apperciate His help around the house when Im not able to do it.
So yes, men should be willing to help around the house, without the wife asking them to help. its common sense

I wouldn't make him do anything. He has his own free will. Yes I probably would work part time. He would always come before all.It would work out great. What I do as far as cooking and cleaning for anyone is out of love anyway. If I needed help am sure he would help. Out of love for me.

I think when your husband retirees, instead of making hm do the housework, make him do you;;;;;;;

all that work and no play all those years,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,
retirement is time for fun, not more WORK

It won't work. I would stay at home with him and share in the housework.
