No class is better than another class. It is all based on play style. One class may be better against x than another class, but the other class may be better at y than the first class. I didn't enjoy playing as a hunter. The pet, while useful, was just one more thing for me to have to watch out for. It didn't fit with my play style. Mage fit my style perfectly (once I was able to spec as a Frost mage) because I have a more tactical and controlled playstyle. Warrior was mostly boring for me, because I prefer to avoid groups unless it is people that I know. But even then, being the tank was not interesting to me. I played a shaman and enjoyed it. I like the concept of the totems because they added a new element every so many levels. And from there you have a wide range of tactics to choose from. Plus I like that you have to quest for them rather than just buying them. I play a warlock also...but I'm undecided. They are very powerful, but the pet (just like the hunter) is one more thing I have to pay attention to. The warlock seems like a more chaotic/power playstyle which doesn't really mesh with my style. I played a rogue but didn't like it. It was more controlled and secretive, but for some reason I just didn't connect with it. I have played as a paladin too, and I did enjoy that, because I was able to solo. At least up through level 18 where he remains. I think what I liked most about the paladin was that it complimented my mage. As a mage I was flimsy but had control/power. As a paladin I was durable but things were not under my control. Kinda the pendulum effect. I never did get into enjoying playing as a priest. I might if I were main healer of a group who needed it, but like I said...I only like grouping with my friends and we generally have healing. The only class I have not yet played is the druid.
My order, from favorite to least, would be:
Mage, Shaman, Paladin, Warlock, Priest, Hunter, Warrior, Rogue...with druid falling probably around 3rd or 4th as a guess.

I like shaman because they can do a fair amount of magic and a fair amount of mellie, but hunters can train pets at lvl 10 and can use the pets to assist them with quest and battles. If your a shaman then you can use One-Handed Maces, Two-Handed Maces (w/ talents), Staves, Fist Weapons, One-Handed Axes, Two-Handed Axes (w/ talents), Daggers as wepons. If hunter then you can useAxes, Daggers, Guns, Bows, Crossbows, Fist Weapons, Polearms, Staves, Swords, Thrown, Two-Handed Axes, Two-Handed Swords. Still can't dicide try going to the web site below
