In law, a quorum is the minimum number of members of a deliberative body necessary to conduct the business of that group.
Ordinarily, this is a majority of the people expected to be there, although many bodies may have a lower or higher quorum.

Quorum is used to denote minimum attendance in a General Body Meeting which is required for the meeting to commence or for any resolution to be adopted.
Patron is sort of "Godfather" for any cause or activity. Of course, it includes Godmothers also, to be gender neutral.
