I've just watched on telly some dim-witted anorex stick insect drifting through a shopping centre reciting poetry that doesn't rhyme to herself and ... guess what ... it's an ad for a perfume. You can guarantee that if you get some blokes with chiselled cheekbones and some wafer-thin miserable models on the box and there's water and sea crashing around behind them, then it's going to be a perfume ad. And what about that ad with some poofy sailor bloke and some bloodless ginger-haired woman that looks like she's just been sucked dry by a vampire .. .yes another perfume ad.
Is it just me, or are these ads a lot of pretentious rubbish?

The girl behind the perfume counter was asked by a male customer, holding up a very expensive bottle of perfume, "does this really work" the assistant replied " do you think I`d be working here if it did" ..............Sums it up.

Yea, if it were for cream cakes etc. you could see the cake and know what it taistes like but with a perfume you cannot show how it smells so hence the problem and the daft commercials. When they invent smellyvision the ads may improve.

They are trying to send the message that if you use our perfume, it will make your life better and you will feel beautiful and romantic, just like the women in these ads. It's all stupid to me. I pay no attention to any of it.

I AGREE - THEY'RE ALL RUBBISH!!! THE VAST MAJORITY OF USE SOME SORT OF PERFUME / AFTERSHAVE SO WHY HAVE SUCH A PRETENTIOUS ADVERTISING CAMPAIGN.
ADVERTS CAN BE AS ARTY AS YOU LIKE BUT IT ONLY MATTERS WHAT IT SMELLS LIKE!!!!

They are trying to sell you aspirations and dreams. "Wear this fragrance and you'll feel as beautiful and ethereal as me." type of thing. I never choose a fragrance because of the advertising, I choose it because of the smell!

P.S. And there's too much packaging!

because there is no value in the product so they can only sell an image.

Buy Mr. Gourgeousfluffpot a new electric drill, he''d much prefer that.

I think they make 'em that way so they can dub them in Spanish and show them there, French, German etc. One add will do hundreds of countries that way.
