There are three different types of T connections. (T1, T2 and T3).
T1 Connection
T1 connections are used in the transmission of telecommunication data. T1 connection has a transmission rate of 1.5 MBit/sec.
T2 Connection
With a transmission rate of 6 MBit/sec, the T2 connection represents the next level after the T1.
T3 Connection
With a transmission rate of 45 MBit/sec, the T3 connection offers the fastest data transfer connection.

T1 is about an inch wide in diameter, it is much faster then dial up, and broadband, it is mostly used in schools and big businesses, then there is T2 about 2 inches wide...then the fastest T3 about a 3 inch long pipe.
T1 - 2000 mpbs per second
T2- 3000 mpbs per second
T3 - 5000 mpbs per second

I don't know exactally what the acronym or defenition would be however, it's a type of connection to the internet... like highspeed or dsl, however it's quicker I believe..
