my opinion is there is nothing good about christmas. It's not even about jesus anymore. It's about people spending too much money, stressing themselves out, just to buy gifts for people b/c the are "supposed" to. The spirit of christmas should be year long, not just from the day after thanksgiving through christmas day. People fight and kill over video games, all in the name of christmas. People commit suicide more during christmas than any other time of year. If people would put HALF as much effort into feeding the homeless, giving blood, being nice to total strangers, as they do in Christmas, the world would be such a better place. Yes, I am a Scrooge but it's b/c of all this. Sorry!

The best part of Christmas to me is all the lights, decorations, music sitting on Santa's lap hee hee no I don't do that anymore ;o) seeing all the kids get excited at the mall to sit on Santa's lap ;o) and I love shopping for others.
The worst part is when I need some cold medicine and go to the store where there's a long line with people who have been Christmas shopping and their carts are all full and here I stand at the end of the line with one box of cold medicine. ;o( waiting patiently. ;o)

I love the lights and decorations and the shopping is okay as long as the stores are not too crowded and i know what to buy. I don't like visiting everyone and listening to them fight and yell and i hate the cold weather but i guess thats not christmas thats just winter in general.

The worst for me is the crowds at the malls. It gets even worse when the people get rude.
My favorite part is the feeling in the air during the whole season and spending time with my family on Christmas Eve.

Best thing: I get christmas day off DIY jobs
Worst thing: By 10AM christmas day i'm bored !
Me thinks i need to sort myself out
I put the plastic reindeer antlers on a couple of our calves so people can see them when they walk along the canal towpath, it makes the kids smile. I think half the kids around here think reindeer look like small Jersey cows !
btw, the calves are very friendly and are not bothered by the antlers....just in case anyone is about to crticise me.

the answer to both questions may be: "kinfolk". To spend the time with the completed kinfolk, with each and each and every of the bickering, the conduct of each and every member, the "roll-your-eyes-on-that-one-oh-no-please... each and each and every of the fuss, the (often times) rigidity, getting on ones nerves and so on., yet at the same time, it really is what kinfolk continually is. it truly is a astonishing time and that i then imagine that what may my kinfolk be with out it? no longer some thing, no kinfolk in any respect. it really is area of it. So it truly is going to be as continually: me observing my kinfolk hacking on one yet another (yet no longer in a mean experience); me quietly getting dissatisfied about someone (continually an identical one) no longer having any table manners; me wishing the day may bypass so i visit bypass abode to my quiet and non violent abode - only to grin and picture: wasn't it a astonishing Christmas with my kinfolk! :-D Have a good Christmas you all!

I love the anticipation, the nights out, good meals, good times with family and friends.
I hate taking down decorations and putting the fairy lights back in the box....it's so annoying and I just end up stuffing them all in.

I love the fact that people start thinking about goodwill to all men, to think about giving instead of taking.
I hate the fact that so few put it into practice.
Any sense of decency is lost in the mad pushing and shoving of January sales.
