I have just been given some ani-depressant drugs and am worried about the long term effect. These are mild doses but I want to try and work this naturally. I have read many books, have an active social circle and am surrounded by people that love me...I am also seeing a wonderful therapist...nothing seems to work though. Any other methods I should try? I am very strong and its making me nervous not to be able to handle this without medication...

I have a high profile job, great personality, friends & family and I live in Paris! I want to enjoy all of this...please help! =(

I know its hard to accept the fact that you have to have help from medication. But, don't fear it so much, it can work, and you will be better between the therapy and anti-depressants. Maybe you won't need it for a long time and if you do it doesn't matter, you've got everything going for you, great job, great personality, family and friends, so give it a try and don't knock yourself for needing meds, that is what they are for.

Do you have SAD (seasonal affective disorder) peep tend to get depressed near the end of the year and blah blah blah. You are already doing all you can do...you need to give it all time to work. I understand you want the quick fix (we all do) spend time with friends and keep doing what your doing. G'luck!

I too was like you.

I can only tell you what worked for me......so here it is.
Pray, and ask Jesus to help you...and if you really mean it, you will find a peace come into you...as I have..........you may need the tablet, as when depressed...a vital element is missing...and the tablets help it re-connect.
You can not re-connect by yourself, it needs the drugs to do it.
START slowly, like they told me one tablet a day.
I used to give myself one qrt!! a day!.Then half a week later...then full tablet two weeks later.
Pray, and be mindful also of the peace Christ can bring....o.k.

have you tried melatonin? i guess our bodies do not produce enough during the cold wintery months. its called SAD: seasonal something or other.

so its not a drug. it occurs naturally in your body.

search SAD or melatonin online or there always seems to be panphlets at the pharmacy here
