The big kicker is they SHOULDN'T have dinged your car in the first place... this wouldn't happen if everyone opened their car door as if their other "brand new" car was sitting beside it.... this is the exact reason I never park near anyone when I park in public (I'm the guy that parks way out there) and of course every now and then there is a idiot who will look over the entire parking lot (with many many closer parking spots) and park next to me way out there, which I kindly feel is offensive just because I parked there on purpose. What can you do, there will always be idiots in this world.

Sorry about your dent. Well tbh most people dont carry a pen and paper around lol
If you get fully comp insurance some companies (i'm with Churchill) cover vandalism to your car. i had a key scratched right along my car and it got a £2000 full respray and my no claims was protected.
If you scratched my car and waited for me to arrive back chances are I may punch you in the head then smash your windows and take what money you have:-)
Thats why people don't "wait around"
I'm jokin obvisouly, but you never know what nutter may own the car right?
Don't be so happy andd kind all the time- sh*t happens don't let it get you down. There's worse things that could happen in life :p

Let it go 'til after chrimbo,..... I'd probably wait if it was a bad 'un, but it's happened to me plenty so I would somehow feel justified if I left (not sure why)...
I've got a real moan at the minute, why can't al these soft-arsed politically correct cretins just shuffle off somewhere and not come back!!!!

Wait, or if I was in a hurry at least leave a note and a number.
Sorry to hear about your experience, I know it happened to me too.

I once reversed into a Mercedes and put a massive dent in it......
If I had stayed I would have lost my no claims bonus only a month before getting it, had all the hassle of sorting out the insurance forms etc and I was on my way to a party so would have been late for that.....
....so I drove off. I don't know the guy. He was rich anyway because he had a Mercedes and after about 35 minutes I had totally forgot about it and don't feel even the slightest bit of guilt about it today.
Bad lucks goes round like a merry go round - it was just that blokes turn for a bit of bad luck. I have had my fair share of bad luck in my life just like everyone else. People have messed with and crossed me so occassionally I give some grief back to humanity.
It all balances out.

probably the reason they didnt leave a note or tell you in person, was they didnt have insurance or they didnt want their insurance to go up,also maybe they dont have license.i couldnt do that.i would come in where you were and told you.maybe between both of us we could determine how to get your car fixed.

I'd wait, of course! Some people just have zero common courtesy.
Sorry about your car

If I got seriously dinged, I'd be expecting to get insurance information, not an apology.
