Don't remove the knife, there will be more blood.
Try to move him to a tiled surface. Better still a linoleum floor or outside.
Mop up what blood you can and then put a piece of furniture over the stain if there is one.
Ask your friend to be a bit more considerate next time he decides to fall on a knife. If he won't, you should get new friends.

Wash the carpet quickly with cold water. Don't use soap or hot water. Keep scrubbing - its really hard to get fresh blood out. Oh and move your friend well away so that more blood doesn't get on the carpet...

How inconsiderate of him! He will stop bleeding very soon, get him out and get a professional carpet cleaner in and bill him. Fancy being so stupid as to fall on a knife! Oh hang on a moment, is that roses I smell? Lavender? Drains? No, I can smell bullshit!!!

Call the cops and report your friend for trying to murder himself at your house (the insconsiderate little twit!). Then while you are waiting, look in the yellow pages for a goot carpet cleaning company and call them. Finally get in touch with a good no-win-no-fee solicitor and claim the cost of your carpet cleaning off your friend (or if he died then claim off his family) plus claim for hurt of feelings, upsets and all the time you had to take off work (and loss of earnings) whilst you were attending to the situation. I guess you could get at least £3000 for this ordeal!

i would try to get the guy into the tub. that way you'll keep the blood off the carpet, and you'll be able to easily clean it out of the tub.

then i would call for an ambulance.

Never mind your carpet! Grabe the phone, dial for an ambulance, or carry your friend to the nearest hospital.

yes you should do something... immediately grab a cell phone, and take a photograph.. you may be able to sell it, and your story, to the newspapers, TV or possibly radio. If your friend is famous then you could cash in selling the whole caboodle to a glossy magazine like Hello

Push th eknife in further to block the hole, then get COLD fresh water on to that stain as soon a s possible. If it doesn't come out, sue your friend, or his estate.

There is one other thing,...um, ...hang on,.....ah yes. phone an ambulance. Get him off the carpet as soon as possible.

Empty his wallet to pay for the cleaning and then show him the door. Some mate he must be if he's bleeding all over your new carpet.
