It takes a *serious* amount of talent to make it to the pros, and even to the minors. Only a baseball talent scout can make those assessments. Probably only about 1% (I'm guessing) that try to get to "The Show".
My advice is to keep practicing, work hard, but don't put all your eggs in one basket. Keep pusuing an education so that if baseball doesn't work out, you have something to fall back on.
Good luck to you.

Keep doing that. If you are not already on the high school team, then get onto the high school. If you are not on the baseball highschool team as one of the best on the team, you don't have a chance. Try to be one of the team's stars. Then, you can ask your coach to arrange a scout from whatever minor league team to come watch you play for one game. Make this game that he watches YOUR BEST. I'm serious, one bad swing or error, and you're done for with this scout and probably for some time.
Good luck. If you do get onto a minor-league team, then you have to play and play and play. Then, you can arrange for a scout from the major league team that owns you to come down and watch you play a game. No, I was wrong about before. THIS HAS to be your GREATEST GAME ever. If he likes it, they might call you up.
Another thing that can happen is you can be drafted onto a minor league team in the high school players draft. Then you can be drafted to a major league team from a minor league draft.
GOOD LUCK!!

You can go to open tryouts, if the local minor league team sponsors any. You won't go straight to a major league team, and you likely won't make a minor league team either. There are plenty of college players with more "real game" experience, and a better history of their quality of play.
If you're good enough, you should be getting recruited by college coaches. If they've overlooked you, you can always try to get a position as a "walk-on" player and get on the scholarship AFTER earning a place on the team.

I have played a great deal of baseball and my favorite statement was " YA GOTTA WANNA" ......which, of course, means if you want it....go for it !
You yourself will know how much improvement your skills have become throughout high school.
If your school is in a very skilled and competitive league, chances are more scouts will be watching.
If you're a pitcher and "only" 6ft tall..they won't even look at you..
If you can't run fast, you better hit the ball a ton.
Sometimes boys mature slowly and don't reach their potential until college age, so don't give up.
My advice for you, young man is "play your very best all the time"
and remember, "YOU GOTTA WANNA"

First of all, you have to make the VARSITY TEAM, then you can decide from there.
