I am 5 weeks pregnant with our first child. My first appointment/ultrasound is next Friday. When would be a good time to tell others that we are expecting?

now will be a woderfull time. when i found out 4 weeks ago i am pregnant, i told everybody. and at six weeks it is still a little early to go for scan. you would not be able to see much or hear or see the heart beat even. normally you go at 8 weeks. then you can at least see something and hear the heart beating.

I accept as true with waiting till the 1st trimester is finished. My husband and that i advised our parents and terrific acquaintances basically good away, and then lost our toddler at purely previous 8 weeks. it relatively is been very heartbreaking and that i'm happy i did no longer tell all people so i did no longer could go interior the path of the story time after time. I do comprehend how excited you're nonetheless! I submit to in innovations my surgeon suggested that she recommended protecting our "secret" till we heard a heartbeat, which could have been around 11 of 12 weeks. stable luck to you.

I took a pregnancy test at work so word got around pretty quick. ( my workplace is all women) I would've preferred to keep it to myself until I had all the tests done. Sadly, my baby was dying in my womb, my son was stillborne at 5 months and then I had to explain to anybody and everybody what happened. It's hard to heal when you have to keep talking about itover and over again. If I every get pregnant again, I'm going to keep it quiet until I know everything is okay. Or until I'm showing and can't really hide it anymore. Good luck, I hope everything works out well for you and your family.

i found out when i was 10 weeks gone i told the father asap. I then told my family after the first scan the following week. In my opinion that is the best time after the first scan

i waited until after my first appointment and they confirmed with their test that i was pregnant....i for some reason had a fear that my home test was wrong (we had been trying to get pregnant for months)...so when the doctor confirmed it, i was comfortable telling everyone.....

but everyone is different...i have had friends that waited until they were 8-10 weeks and had their fetal viability ultrasounds (where they see the heartbeat).....its up to you!

congrats!

My friend waited 4 months before she told anyone b/c she was starting to show. You should tell people when you feel comfortable enough to say you have a baby inside of you. That way it'll be a joyful moment.

We waited until we were 3 months out of superstition. Tell them at any time, be proud! Cograts and good luck!
