Silly situation I know, costs us all a fortune when in most cases you wish people a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year as you see them in the season, not to mention the time it all takes. What does everyone else do/think?

I save the cards I received from last year, then when I start writing out my cards for this year, I send to those who sent me a card last year. Also, if there are new people in my life that I have grown close to, they get added to the list as well. I used to send to everyone in my family, but when you don't get anything back in acknowledgment, well, rather than feel a twinge of hurt, I just don't send them one again. Doesn't mean we don't love all our families, just that perhaps with postal costs being what they are, close friends and family should come first.

Just send to the ones that are in your heart. It is not the quality nor the price of the card that counts. Buy a box at a Dollar store and send those out, they are cute and it makes a strong statement. It says you are thinking of them at this time and most of all, Merry Christmas. Think of the ones that call you, talk to you, send you cards, keep it with those that are close to you in heart. You can call some and say Merry Christmas. I send to family and the ones that I really love, not everyone I know. I used to send to all but after realizing that I don't get from all, well, I don't send to all. If this is costing you stress and money you don't have, don't send any, except to family!

I sent all my card´s on Monday, only to have them sent back to me , forgot the prise had gone up , & here in Spain they go by weight , so some had to have more stamps added , yes expencive , But it´s the thought that count´s & most of my family live in the UK. and the rest scattered around the world , so I think no matter the cost , it´s always nice to recive a card at Christmas

For the people you see, just give the cards to them personally and the others out of town or further away mail them!!

I only send Christmas cards to people I REALLY want to, that may sound silly but my neighbours hardly even say hello to me the rest of the year and then push a card through my door at Christmas, I have to ask myself ...why? call me a miserable bag if you want but they don't get one from me! I literally send to close family and friends and that is it!!

Give cards to people that you keep in touch with the most and get on well with people at work if some one dosn't hardly talk to me then or i don't know them well then they don't get a card no good giving a card and they feel they have to give a card back cause you gave one!

rather than send cards we call people and wish them a Happy Christmas, and let them now rather than sending cards we will be donating the money we would have spent on cards and stamps to a charity

Not a silly question. Our compromise: Mail to those we won't meet, or probably won't. Exchange in person with those we will meet over the week or so prior, or on the day.
I hope this works!
