In an episode of 24, they stated that the president's cabinet has the power to remove the president from office if they feel he is unfit to serve. is this true?

The Cabinet cannot remove the President because he can only be removed through impeachment in Congress.

No, not really.
The cabinet CAN remove the president from acting authority if and only if they feel he has been incapacitated. This was explored in the movie Air Force One, and my understanding is that it would never ever happen in the real world. Probably something similar to what happened with Nixon, resign before Congress impeaches and the Senate convicts your ***. Also, make sure you leave a VP who is going to pardon you so you do wind up getting off scott free...

No. Don't believe everything you see on TV. The Cabinet may feel the President is unfit, but they have no power to act upon it. Only the Congress has the power of impeachment.

The House of Representatives has the authority to impeach a president. The Senate then can decide on that president's removal from office.
