Because Charles re-married a divorced women, he should not be King. They can't just change tradition/rules when it suits them!
Charles is a moron lets face it - he has all of the tact and diplomacy of his father.
William is young yes, but maybe this country needs some young and fresh idea's.
Although both Charles and William would effectively be puppets and not making any real decisions themselves, I do think William would be less of an embarrassment to the country.
William also has presence and charisma, Charles... does not,and I really don't see how we can allow the adulterer to be King. He is sneaky, untrustworthy and a liar - he proved that in his first marriage.

First of all Charles is a prince he doesn't have to abdicate because his Mother is the queen. That is something that a person who is offered the crown might do
Secondly, when his Mom passes he can make that decision on his own without people making decisions for him.
I have watched interviews of Charles and feel bad that people are so nasty to him. If anyone was a snob it was that creature he first married .who people want to put a halo on, she wasn't Little Miss Mary Sunshine in the real world.

The question is redundant. Charles will have to survive His Mother and that's not a racing cert. It is not the business of monarchy to abdicate. We are talking about the Divine Right of Kings here. The Sovereign believes, he/she is appointed by God, not voted on by their subjects. Incidentally, if Charles does come to the Throne, He may choose His first name as King in which case He will be King Charles the Third, not fourth as stated by some other person.

it isn't going to happen. As has been pointed out, only a reigning Monarch can abdicate, and Charles at present is not the Monarch. He has stated in many interviews that he intends to be King as and when the time arrives since it has been his ordained duty from his birth. he has no intention of stepping aside in favour of William who does not have the necessary experience anyway.
Personally I think Charles will make a very good King. Camilla, whatever you think of her, is a very good influence on him, he is happy in his personal life now, and that can only be good for the country.

I think his son would do a much better job at being king than his own father. Why should Charles continue his royalty as king? He shouldn't have been prince in the first place. Alls he cared about was himself being king and never his ex-wife, Princess Diana. He was suppose to love her only and give her respect and rights to choose what to do. I don't even know why Camille even married this jerk.

Yes, I do think Prince Charles should let William become king and not himself. But, I doubt that will happen. Charles seems to want to take over the monarchy....

I really don't care. I am not a big fan of Prince Charles. But I really don't understand all the reasons why there is still a Royal Family. But of course I am an American and I don't know all the history.

I can't think of any reason why he should. He's an excellent administrator and that's what the job mostly entails. He hates Murdoch and doesn't trust the US. That's good enough for me.
The whole thing is probably out of Charles's hands. Women in his family tend to live for a very long time, and he may well die before his mother.
Before Wills gets the job, I think we should wait and see if he's as barmy as his mother and brother.

Abdicate what? His Mommy still hasn't abdicated HER throne and from the looks of it, she'll die with that freaking crown on her head.
What is she- 150 years old?
She must really distrust ole Charlie to be so reluctant to let go of the pretend throne to him.
And what's the difference? The Throne of England, besides their wealth, has no more power in the world than the Cadbury Chocolate factory. Some people like them and some don't.

Who do really care about that???
They are decorative puppets anyways, that spend the citizen's money in stupid things, as prince charles made when was married with Diana, but bought jewels to camila.
They are good for nothing.
