Yes, there was an op ed written by an historian in last Sunday's paper that said just that. There were also other views; all are linked below.

LMAO; You people are the final 31% of Americans who approve of GW, that is so funny. I always wondered where you people were. Go turn on Fox News, I'm sure there's some good reasons to still like GW. GW is certainly the worse two-term president ever and he's a smidge above Carter still though however. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Only four presidents have scored lower approval ratings since the Gallup Poll began regularly measuring it in the mid-1940s: Harry Truman, Richard Nixon, Jimmy Carter and the first George Bush. When Nixon, Carter and the elder Bush sank below 35%, they never again registered above 40%. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

No. People were saying the same things about Lincoln at the time. Most Americans hate having to go through war, under any circumstances. The guy in the White House takes the blame, but history has a clearer perspective.

There are no 'possiblys' about this. I have to tell you, once again, I have just listened to the leader of the free world speak with Blair on TV and this guy sounds like your cowboy in a rodeo. I cringed with embarrassment.
Whilst Blair was about to sound statemanlike, our man came across as your worst nightmare at a bar.

The worse president ever I don't think so. Maybe Hoover or one of the other presidents whose names we can never remember. On my personal list are Clinton, Carter, and Nixon. Ford was a do nothing and JFK did not live long enough. Of the presidents that I can remember JFK and Bush are probably the best. Only my opinion.

The next one will be worse, you start off with a good one then you have compounded badness passed on from president to president. America will have it`s very own Hitler in another 50 years.

for all of those who say that we hate our presidents during wartime: Of Course we do, but do not generalize all of the presidents into that category. For instance, Cleveland the Spanish-American War over what now seems were trumped up charges and have yet to meat a historian that truly likes Cleveland. And look at LBJ, he had a very bad time in Vietnam(horrible really) and this tends to overshadow his amazing legislation and civil rights acts. But when you look at the presidents who joined wars because they had to, not because they wanted to, Woodrow Wilson and FDR, we love them. Which category does Bush fall under?

I dont think so. I remember people making similar statements about Reagan and now he is embraced as one of the best leaders we've had. If you take a poll of people over the age of 25, my guess is they will vote Carter as the worst President ever.

That is just what he is. His whole history of service in that office has been a disaster. He isn't alone on that page a few more before him will also be on that list .Any one who thinks he is smarter than anyone else is a loser.
