The cool part is you can wear whatever you feel more comfotable with. Sometimes with jeans I will wear some tall black patent leather heels and dress it up with hose. But trouser socks are always fun to wear- especially if you find some cool colors that accent your outfit. Whatever you feel that day is aceptable. The funkier the better!

Socks would definitely mix up the message. What sort of mule is it? If you have something with a slender or dressy heel and a tailored look, it will probably look better with hose. On the other hand, if by "mule" you mean riveted clog on a wedge or wooden base, you can get away with socks. It also depends on what sort of reaction you are trying to get. I've seen some women mix up fashion statements in funky ways. Some people like it, others don't. My suggestion: do what pleases you.

As a guy, I would be appreciative if you wore knee-highs rather than socks! Bobby-socks have not returned since the early 40's and 50's, and came about because of the shortage of nylon for pany-hose. Men already appreciate a nicely formed pair of legs. (no pun intended)

I don't think you should wear socks/hose with closed toed - open back (mules). In my opinion, it looks silly when people wear socks with open footwear. Yes, you can wear whatever you like blah, blah, blah But, when it comes down to it you thought it might look strange yourself or else you wouldn't have asked.

A nice pair of thick hose in a skintone would look much better.

Wear hosiery with both. If is shows it will still look good were as sock will look silly

Yes hose should be worn with this outfit.
Socks would look funny and hose are sexy.

hey are you wearing this stuff or is everybody else i say however you feel that morning here a thought are you going to be in a dressy occasion or just every day plan it that way
