If you remember Kindergarten classes they were very interesting and surely you might have still remember some as compare to what you have studied in High School or in the University because they were interesting had images, songs, funny things which is parallel to human psychology.
At present out education is getting commercialized. No body bother if you learn or forget they need their tuition fees.
Anything which is performed by lack of interest will be overlooked. You can learn a song faster than History subject. But if you start making something funny or interesting from Office job, study or in you daily life you will feel good and will continue. The secret to do job done lies in the interest, but how to make something interesting varies from person to person. You can do work while singing, I can not do that, but I will use mind map.
I will try to associate.
In short, make anything funny, interesting, unique associate that with something. Such as, if I say Japan, you could think of Ninja or Kimono, if I say USA you could think of President Bush or Liberty. likewise.

Appy's answer is good. Research shows that we pay closer attention when we listen to a certain "minuet" rhythm, such as Mozart's. It is very effective with young children and enhances their ability to learn, remember and comprehend new information. Also, push yourself to quicken the pace. Get snappy physically, too. Stretch and do balancing exercises frequently for three-five minutes every hour. If possible, lower the temperature in your work area by 2 degrees. That will help change your metabolism so that it burns hotter, or, faster. That will make you pay attention better. Also, make-up your own checklists of tasks to do, your regular duties and procedures, even though you know them well. Try to be comprehensive and detailed. By writing them out, your brain is being used in an additional way (writing affects a different area of our brains). We then pay closer attention and remember details better, just by writing them out from memory, or visualization. Visualization, like handwriting, also affects a different part of our brain. The more of our brain we learn to stimulate, the more we are able to be fully aware, profoundly perceptive and lucid.
