Here is a website with some very good points to support gay marriage and good come-backs for the most common arguments against gay marriage: http://www.freewebs.com/humanity22/

I think it could be helpful for your debate. Good luck!

According to our Constitution church and state are to be kept separate. Then when homosexuality is mentioned all of a sudden the politicians start to bring up the Bible and use words to make a point. That is against what the Constitution is all about. Whether being gay is a sin or not is beside the point politically. As an American I should, without question enjoy all of the freedom that generations fought and died for, and still do. When two people fall in love a want to make a commitment to each other, they should be allowed to. When State and Church start to make rules and restraints on Americans, gay or straight, then we are being denied our freedom and rights. Yet we are expected to pay the same taxes, live by the same rules as others. Where does it stop? Blacks were denied and in many ways still are denied certain freedoms. Up until 1920 women could not even vote. All people born in this Country regardless, should have equal rights and the freedom to love and live as they choose. Besides, we as gay people should marry. We have the right to be as miserable as everyone Else!

Yes, I think they should. After all if two people love each other and wish to spend the rest of their lives together, why should they be denied the right to live as a married couple. I'm for it, all the way. I also believe they should adopt and or have a child. All this is part of a family and homosexuals should not be denied any of it.....maybe than there would be less dysfunctional homes....

Why YES, Homosexual People should be allowed to marry. That's when two people are in Love and have made a commitment to each other. A lot of people frown about it, as the famous words from Whoopie Goldberg's last concert. " What makes you think you're going to get invited to the Wedding? They don't know you"!!!!

Start by losing the word homosexual, change it to same gender. Marriage is not about sexuality.

Gay & lesbians can already marry in any state of their choosing. The state and federal government do not control unions before God. All they do is refuse to authorize the 1051 benefits to same gender couples, but they do not control the union & commitment of marriage.

The claim to 'protect' marriage is not within the individual powers of mankind . Only the couple in the marriage can protect that.

Ask your opponent to cite the case law to cite any marriage where the union between two other people lessened a marriage, and neither partner in the marriage union was not causal in the request for divivorce!

Yes!!!! I believe if you are in love it should not matter if you are a man and woman, man and man or woman and woman. Simple as that.

If say, two gay men want to get married, how is that going to affect you? Will it bring higher taxes? Will it make the sky turn green? Would it turn you gay yourself? NOOOO!! All it means is that Bob loves Joe over there and they want the world to know it and acknowledge it by way of marriage license. I felt the same way when I married my husband. I loved him and felt the world should know. We had a wedding ceremony, I changed my last name and we are happy. All people should have that.

i think anyone should be allowed 2 get married. as long as they are old enough in their state. i dont think that race or gender or anything else should matter. as long as the 2 people are in love and really want to get married. then do it, but dont get married just because you want to married. or because you want to make someone jealous or mad. marriage isnt any of that. marriage is love between to people who want to spend the rest of their lives with one another. who will be there through thick and thin. as it says in the vows......in sickness and in health til death due you part. so make sure u know what u want before u get into it. marriage isnt a tool marriage is love a bond between 2 ppl. those rings are symbols of ur love 4 one another. remember that...........there r 2 many divorces in America these days.

u mean Homosexuals? Of course they should. They are 2 souls. I don't think that the government should be taking such a huge interest in this subject. Marriage, and Sexual Identity are very private matters, and they shouldn't be as high up as they are on the politian's list's of importance.

love knws no boundries, castes, races so why should a person's gender get in the way, true love its all tht counts,
and all those people thinking tht its unnatural then they obviously dont knw tht homosexuality also exists in the animal kingdom.
- whoever said tht its a phenomenon, ts WRONG! homosexuality existed since the start of human civilizations,a nd there hav been references to it in the greek mythology and in many indian texts. many of the artists were knw to be homosexuals, many also believe tht nepoleon had a lover.

I fail to see how my sharing my bed with a person of the same sex should disqualify me for expressing my formal commitment to love and cherish in a marriage ceremony.

Yes. Gays and lesbians should be 'allowed' to marry.
