I would first get "saved" and baptised!
I would practise my Christianity, by being kind to others, and carrying out the "great commission", by spreading the Word of the LORD to everyone, teach them and baptising them in the name of the FATHER, SON, and HOLY SPIRIT.
I would fellowship with others, and gain strenght in my faith. I would pray a lot.
Thats just about it...
I wish you well..
Jesse

Where is Christ coming? And who assigned this homework to you? I hope it wasn't in an american public school.
Write your paper on how you're studying evolutionary theory so that when you realize on your death bed that only then will you get to meet Christ, you will have at least made more sense of the world you live in. The afterlife is an unknown, the best preparation for which is to live life to its fullest.
Alternate answer:
Write that since you are more inclined to believe in the norse, greek, or aztec religions, that when christ comes she/he will only come for the christians, and so you will prepare by studying military strategy in order to secure the entire North, Central, and South American continent for you and your fellow otherwise believers.

I can't help you out. I don't want to hate on you. But you could also write a paper on what to do when Santa Claus comes and drops off presents to your house. I think when they said that they didn't mean it literally, it more a metaphor more to give people hope.

Work for the kingdom of God, meaning continue giving to church and to the needy, fellowshiping, taking care of your body, living peacefully, frugal so that you will not be a friend of the world. In short, do not invest in any thing, except the word of God.

Christ will set his own path before his coming.
if at all we have to do anything we have to be pure from our heart, not because he is coming but otherwise also,
mass prayers should go on.......
