I'm talking about stuff like Breyten Breytenbach, Elisabeth Eybers, Ingrid Jonker, Antjie Krog, Modikwe Dikobe, Athol Fugard and such. Seems like ideas have dried up. What's your take on this?

The problem is that the country is in a state of flux, the different racial/interest groups are still not sure where they fit in in the new SA. The Africans are still grappling with newfound power, Whites are still contemplating the sudden loss of power, the Colourdes are still not sure where they belong and the Indians are going on with their lifes. Only when everyone is comfortable with their roles in the country will people be willing to tell their proper stories without fear of offending sensibilities.
