Series of sentences to Sanjay Dutt, Shibu Soren, Navjotsingh Sidhu is something average Indian could not expect. Indian judicial system is infamous to let loose any accused who could pull some strings here and there. I am not dwelling upon the merits of each case, but as an ordinary Indian I find it refreshingly hopeful.

All the accused are granted bail to file appeal against the verdict, and probably they will be granted further bail till the appeals come for hearing and finally decided. Almost all cases took more than 13 to 19 years for trial with lower courts, and probably same duration will be at appeal courts, and further appeal thereupon , if available.

Now I am eagerly await for the trials of some more high staus accused. Probably 90 % of active politiican , and retired politician, must have been charged for one or more than one charges (to add feather in the crown as politician).

From Bollywood I can recollect names of Salman Khan, Aamir Khan and few other actors , producers and directors. Recently Aishwarya Rai is also under the cloud by the Custom for money laundring scam.

I am not wishing for the conviction for all of them. But I want to realise everyone that being in power is not to be above the law.

Well yes I agree that it is a positive sign that even the rich and the mighty can be booked by the law and punished. Though bringing law and order in the country still has a long way to go, at least a few convictions will boost the moral of the police, investigating agencies and the public. Let's hope it is indeed a dawn of a new era of equality and justice.

Thats not that law has awaken. This (may) be the starting of a new generation. But all the guilts were punished after atleast 10 yrs what good its going to do.
so the awakeing of law has nothing to do with this, it jus came out of a small nap, and quickly went back to sleep. There is more to come...
if the real sunrise comes and the nation, its ppl, the law wakes up, but its late, atleast we should pray the sun to rise...

All these years, if one surveys, law has been sentencing, awarding punishments and hanging some criminals. But 99% of them are not influential or powerful. Its the rich and powerful persons with good connections in the political and bureautic system who have developed immunity from law, and law has often proved toothless in nailing them. Raja bhaiya, Shahabuddin, Laloo, Capitalists responsible for Uphaar tragedy, Niyogi murder, Datta Samant murder, police officers and BJP-VHP leaders like Modi and Togadia responsible for mass murders in Gujarat in 2002, politicians involved in huge scams- Rajiv Gandhi (Bofors), many Army officers involved in huge corruption and fake encounters. The list is really long. Few retired Chief Justices have also claimed that majority of the judges are corrupt, then what is one to expect from this juducial system.
From time 2 time some good people in judicial system try to bring some order, but they might not prevail.

It is wake up call for bigwigs, who think that they can get away with any thing that they do. But, it is still a long way to go before we come to a stage when all are treated equal before law. Still a large section of the influential people commit offences with impunity. Till such a situation arises, we cannot feel elated.

i don't think that law awaken it's too late, why these people are found guilty after this long period, they should be punished when they commited the crime , only reason is they are famous personality,or poltician , i tell you one thing if this crime is done by you and me we will be strictly punished or may be sentence to death, i don't know what the hell is happening. in india there are two different law, one is for RICH AND FAMOUS PERSONALITY AND ONE IS FOR POOR AND ORDINARY MAN.................I TELL YOU ONE THING F XXX K THE LAW......
