doubtful unles he has a proxy server or uses full logging on the router (i doubt it as many do not do this). BUT if it was dodgy just remember that the ISPs will retain records of EVERYTHING for 10 years.
cheers

hi, that's an increasing common situation because of the sheer type of instant routers now put in and getting used. in the journey that your utilizing his router with out his knowlegde or permission thats no longer very effective of you. Your utilizing a service some different person is procuring so your stealing his bandwidth in effect. in the journey that your neighbours instant router is vast open and has no protection set-up upon it (insecure cyber web connection) and also you need to get admission to the cyber web then no I doubte this individual will be attentive to what your doing, even with the undeniable fact that routers typically do have logs. So the router may (& I do rigidity may!) nicely have logged someone's' IP handle utilizing the router & gaining cyber web get admission to. for sure the logs wont have your call written in them yet probable your machines IP handle. **Technically what your doing isnt strickly legal? **i imagine its unfair of you to take earnings of a few different person's lack of information about the router. on the least you need to bypass and ask in a polite way in the journey that they wouldnt thoughts you sharing cyber web get admission to with them. **i am going to leave this example that you'll imagine about from an ethical/moral perspective. imagine about the way you may sense if some different person did an identical situation to you? and also you wondered the position all that month-to-month files useage allowence disappeared too. That would depend upon the router he's using. Most SOHO routers don't log much information directly but most of them CAN be configured to send information to a syslog server. That's not likely unless your neighbor is a computer geek or engineer.
What they can't do is to identify exactly who was using their system. They may be able to determine that through process of elimination but there is no hard evidence that points directly to the interloper.

Very unlikely unless he is some kind of computer geek. Standard home routers don't log that kind of info. Then again, if he's a computer geek he would have made sure he had security on his wireless router to prevent you using his connection in the first place! (assuming you connected wirelessly to hsi router)

Nope, unless he has enabled logging but not many home users do this as it is complicated but as ____ said ISPs do keep records of everything for 10 years.
