Tell me what do you know about my country?

Hello everyone, I'm Vietnamese, that means I'm from Viet Nam - a country in the south east of asia

Would you please tell me what do you know about my country - Viet Nam, as much as possible. And tell me where you're from too. I need it to write an essay.

Hey Iam from Sweden...I know that VietNam is not so very big...its hot and wet there...It was war there against USA and VietNam wan the war...there was some group called the Vietcong I think and they faught against both VietNam and USA...My father have been there and people were starving its very poor Land...
In the country people are farmers and make rice as there living...
Theres storys about people living in the djungle and they still think its war...
Many people went from VietNam when it was war many of them came to Sweden...VIenamese are not very big physically they are often small and noone have curly hair...they Eat alot of food like chicken feets and frogs and snakes...Vietnamese are very familiar and love there familys and they are close and keep together help eachother with everything...The old ones are beeing taken care of by the younger...

I know that Vietnam has borders with Cambodia, Laos and China. That you have an open socialist/communist government. That most of you are buddhists

Your country were part of the French colony of Indochina during 19th century and beginning of 20th century. Indochina was invaded by Japanese during Second World War.
The war of against France took place after Second World War and was lost by French for Ho-Chi-Minh (battle of Dien Ben Phuh). After, Viet Nam became a war field between viet minh and imperialists. USA lost the war too and all VietNam became communist.

You have a river called Mekong ... and the capital is Hanoi

Your currency is the Dong (a friend went to visit your country and brought some)

You have a wonderful spicy food ;o)

Vietnam, as far as I know, is a testing ground for a scientific experiement which I cannot tell directly. It was the country wherein two superpowers matched their prowess, and communism won decisively. Side by side with Russia, Vietnam won the war because of determination, although your rebels are lesser in stature with the amercians. Vietnam are simple folks, and God fearing people.
Story of Khemer Rouge is shocking to the world. Well, I am from the Philippines and looks like vietnamese because I am asian.good luck for your essay.

Let's see here, you guys had a civil war that we stepped into. Eventually North Vietnam just took over South Vietnam after we pulled out or something like that.
I know that Saigon was the capitol (at least of the South) and you're near Cambodia and Laos, right?

That's really about all I can recite from my head and it might not even all be correct.
