Uh, I'd like to say bad but as it's all we got, my answer will be: it is just what it is. It's up to us to find creative ways to live inside it.

I think that life was so much simpler and uncomplicated before the Industrial Revolution and modern civilization. Some might argue that a lot of good things have been invented that make life better - true, especially looking at medical advancement. However, morals have gone way done, since it seems people have more free time on their hands. As they say, "The devil finds work for idle hands".

Modern civilization has its ups and downs. There are terrorists, scamsters and frauds, hackers and hooligans. We have to take the good with the bad. It is up to us to make a difference. We may have better means to achieve our goals. In the end truth triumphs and tomorrow will be another day

Neither. It is the thing we are to live with. There is nothing to do about it
Seriously, it has advantages and disadvantages
For me the mos serious advantage is that people destroy the environment
Advantage - we can sit before a computer and discuss different things (I mean comfort)
It depends in your way of thinking - any civilization can be evil

To me civilization means willingness of individuals to forgo personal preferences and conveniences for the sake of the benefits inherent in living together.

Modern civilization is perhaps taking us backwards by giving too much importance to individual freedom, especially at the cost of family ties. We seem to forget that sublime joy in fact lies in binding ourselves in love to our near and dear ones.

Constantly improving. Some say eventually we'll get to where we're supposed to be - ie civilised. If you look at today there's much more concern with the poor and underprivileged in the world where once they would be sold as slaves! And there's more concern with the environment. Maybe we are getting there very slowly?!

Albert Einstein once said, "It has become appallingly obvious that our technology has exceeded our humanity."

I think people are generally good, but some of us are so caught up in the sea of stuff and the latest this and that, that we have lost (or put on the back burner) our sense of humanity and really doing things that matter (or make us truly happy), like helping the less fortunate.

In the past people died in battle-weren't there battles all the time? Not as much now. Isn't civilization judged by how happy and healthy its citizens are
