How could you not break an egg drop from a 3rd floor building???

Help... This is a science project in PHYSICS and we have to find out how
could we not break the egg as we drop it from the 3rd floor. Our teacher said
that the materials we only have to use is 2 sheets of newspaper or any paper, a raw egg (as in a chicken egg) and scotchtape or a string. Then out of the paper, we have to make a parachute to be intact in the raw egg as we drop it from the 3rd floor. Could anyone answer how could we not break the egg... What would be the design of our PARACHUTE made from newspaper or any paper so that the egg would not break.... Thank you... Hoping for a quick response... :)

OK that was joke but if u need design of parachute then here is the help.
take a lightweight paper( u said u can take any paper) and cut a hexagon of side about 8-12 cm.at each corner of hexagon .paste bit more paper or cardboard to make it tough.
now take a thread and cut equal pieces of abt. 20cm +some extra length.roll tape along circumference of egg and tie this egg with thread along corners of parachute.

main thing to be noted is that make measurements ACCURATE.
bcos a parachute needs balance and it is most stable if mass of egg is distributed uniformly to it.It can be achieved by making a symmetrical

hang yr egg VERTICALLY FROM TY PARACHUTE.
why this, bcos egg is quite strong at upper and lower ends.so even if ur egg strikes ground it will not break.
try an activity--take an egg in yr hand and hold it from the ends longitudinally.NOW try to break the egg.U cant!!!!!

The smart @rse solution is that you lean out of the window on the 3rd floor and drop the egg from one hand into the other. It's not specified that you have to drop it all the way to the ground.

well i saw this episode on mythbusters and you should make a parachute and put as much padding as you can around the egg as you can (just so you know applying pressure to an egg will not crack it no matter what) or you can get the episode of mythbusters from a library good luck with the project!!

Use the other sheet of paper to make a cushion to avoid crashing if hitting a rough surface.

Hi I can only think of something similar we did like this in school, but i recall that we soaked the egg in vinegar for 24 hrs and it became hard as rock.
um, I am not sure about the design but hope it works well :)
