A number of organs ( if not all of them!) have been given a double role and the mind overseas the roles. The mouth is for eating and also for talking. The nose for breathing and smelling. The list can go on. So are the organs for sex. All these are means to an end and are not end in themselves.

If one can understand this judiciously one can give due importance to the activity of sex too. It is in the mix up of understanding that sex has been overplayed and given over importance.

Just as for living a simple bread is as enough as a double burger, for enjoyment a simple loving sexual relationship is as enough as a crazy onslaught.

Yes sex is very important. Men think of sex every 15 seconds. When men see women they are looking at her various body parts and wondering how it would feel to have sex with her. Women on the other hand can do without sex. To them family is more important.
On the other hand no one thinks of food all the time. When we see food it does not arouse any desire in us.
If there was a choice to be made between the two, sex would win hands down........ maybe even pants down !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Organisms are driven by a need to survive. To do this they avoid discomfort: cold, hunger, thirst, tiredness, disease, loneliness. Obviously the more essential something is to survive, or to avoid discomfort, the higher a priority it is for fulfilment. Food and water is probably first on the list to satisfy as it is an essential need which needs constantly revisiting (once shelter and warmth are secured, they are often long-term). Sex therefore comes as a lower priority, once all other needs have been satisfied. Why do you think people like to have sex after a good meal, in a warm, dry, clean environment?

Sex is not as much a necessity as food is. However, the urge for sex can be so strong that one may be willing to be without food for as long as physically possible, in order to satisfy the urge ....... I am told cockroaches actually forgo search for food for the sake of sex!!

Clean sex which is the source of procreation is as much an essential part of life as food and sleep are.

You'll die without food but not (at least not literally) without sex.
