why do gay guys act so girly to the point of 1980' valley girl. I just watched americas top model, and to tell you the ruth, if i were gay, i would be pissed at the actionsof that dude on there, and why do some women come off so butch, that it seems if you approach them, they hack you too pieces...not a bashing qustion. I like will on Will and grace...and i love jack...but some people go alittle to far....whats you opinion on this

my main reason is...i know two brothers...one is in medical school, you know he's gay by the way he talks, and acts. but the other brother wears make up, dresses drag, and usees valley girl talk....i could never ask, because they are friends...but i find it so different between them....

The answers easy. The only ones you can easily tell are gay are the ones who act like that.... when really there are tons of normal, straight-acting guys you see... but because they act straight you never know they're gay.
The femm ones are obvious, but there are many more which aren't obvious at all, which is why you never know about them.

Because of who they are just as much as you act as you do because of who you are and you cannot just turn that off nor can they!
People need to realize it has always been like this since the beginning of time, there have been feminine men and masculine women, you just see them up front and center now because we as a human race are progressing!
See people are not all the same they do not look the same, feel the same, act the same, we are all different. Some straight women wear make up some never do, some are good housekeeper some are not, some men dress like slobs, some men are so into the hygiene they look like GQ magazine all the time. Some men watch sports all day and night some never do...........HENCE WE ARE ALL DIFFERENT ALWAYS WERE AND ALWAYS WILL BE!

Some gay guys are flamboyant because that is who they are. It makes them happy. As far as I am concerned any gay man xwho is successful and happy with who he is, is a fantastic representative of gay culture. What I'm 'pissed' at is the larger populations perception that there is something wrong with their behaviour. These men aren't commiting crimes, they aren't hurting anyone with their behaviour, why come down so hard on them?
Having said that, there is something to be said about 'clone' culture in general. There are gay men who want to fit in so badly they may adopt behaviour they perceive to be 'normal' or fashionable gay behaviour in an effort to be accepted by the larger gay society. I would hope that with a bit of confidence that these men will eventually find their feet and realize just because they don't fit in with some heterosexual circles, doesn't mean they have to be a slave to conformity in a gay one. However this is not a gay social phenomenon. This is normal for young people who haven't defined themselves in ANY sexuality, gay or straight.

i loved your question. but it is almost a way of trying to have an identity.at one time most people in flint worked for "the shop" witch meant buick or delphi.most were line worker's. they made good money but nothing but thier i.d. badge's seperated them.on the other hand there is management,or technichion's or as my step father was airconditioning refrigation specialist. {he fixed the one's in the plant}.so the need to identify or break away from an identity can be the motive.for what you see .also you have a interesting tri-chotmy. the white collar world is the biggest closet sector,the media witch really only report's on story's where it can get good graphic's ,conflict,etc.will alway's show you the extreme'sso don't count on jack as a represenative.and the one's you seem to seek out most.aren't in the closet they just either thought people knew. or don't like other's attitude's in thier lives

Go to a gay leather bar (if you can stand the smell of cigar smoke and vodka). You will see muscly men with leather jackets, jeans and big black boots. They sound like Russell Crowe and like their sex to be rough and dirty. Nothing 'valley girl' about leather daddies.
Get out more. Mature. You are a very sheltered little girl with no clue as to the gay community's diversity.

Plain and Simple. They are who they are...that's it. There are a lot of gay men and women that are just like your neighbor next door and you'd have no clue at all. You need to familiarize yourself with the Gay Community and check out a club or two. Everybody is not what you may seem to think they are, young lady.

I've wondered that myself
I don't classify myself as gay or bi
but I don't limit myself to a gender in partner so I guess you'd call me bi.
I've always gotten a real kick out the the foo-foo boys. They are so over the top. You almost wonder where on earth they had to study all those affectations because no everyday girl walks around like that.
I've always found the butchy chicks to be really angry and defensive. You would just ask them their name and they would glare at you and hunch their shoulders like you were that vermin of all vermin ... a man!

Gay guys who acts 'girly' acts that way since they like it. Their friends also like it, otherwise they would not do it. It is their choice to act that way, and if you do not like it, just do what one normally does when someones behaviour is not to your liking but does not hurt you: IGNORE IT.
