Depends on their age. Men peak at around 18 and slowly decline over the years. Women peak at around 32. So if a couple is in their twenties, the man will want it more. Once they're in their early 30's, the woman will usually want it more. After that, it's a toss-up.
Note: This is based on the natural realities of the genders. This can be altered when folks become too obsessed with what they think everybody else is doing (something that generally effects women more than men). As a result, it's become popular to be the one who wants sex all the time regardless of age or gender.

I believe they do. Although men and women both enjoy the physical gratifications of sex, in a relationship, I believe the emotional satisfaction is more important to a woman than a man. This is evident by the old cliché that after sex, women want to cuddle, and men want to watch TV.

depends.
I think men need the short-term physical "fix" more than women do, but, at least in a long term relationship, women need the emotional reassurance (as in "I've still got it) that comes with it more than men do. Both men and women need both things, but I think the proportions needed are somewhat different.

I don't think this is a gender issue. I know plenty of women who want more sex than their boyfriends and husbands and vice versa.

I don't think so. What they really need is a man who cares and someone who will take time with them.

I don't think so. In my experience, women are like camels. They can go months without it. I do believe they enjoy it more however. Guys just want it more. :)

this is an issue that cannot be generalised, it is an individual thing, it is not a gender thing.
