As the others have mentioned, you can speak to your doctor about the birth control pills. Just be aware that this doesn't work for everyone. I was in the same situation and was disappointed when I got mine anyway. Not only did I get it, but it lasted MUCH longer than usual! Adverse reaction, I guess.
But, my wedding night and honeymoon were still special and enjoyable, and yours can be too. Maybe your focus could be more on romance and a celebration of your love for each other, rather than just the physical act. Maybe play some romantic music, light some candles, scatter some rose petals, give each other an all over body massage, and comsummate your marriage in a bubble bath?
I know the wedding night is supposed to be special, and should be, but to put things in perspective, you have the whole rest of your lives together.
Oh, and congratulations!

Call your Gynecologist he can help you manipulate when your period will start by simply taking birth control pills a few days or weeks exept you would start them mid cycle and he can tell you exactly when. This is not recomended to do for every special occasion however Gynecologists have been helping woman do this a long time since many brides through History have faced your dilema and your Gynecolgist will undertsand the importance and should help you. Its rather simple.. Congradulations

If you're on birth control pills it's easy to take a few more that month to carry you past your wedding. Then take the usual break and finish the package after that. This is what my MD recommended to me as I was in the same situation as you when I got married.

There are medicines available in the medical store for postponing periods (I donot remember the name of the medicine at this moment). To be on the safer side you could consult a doctor for the medicine or any other alternate. Anyway, Wish you a very married life.

There's a chance you won't get your period at all that month because of all the stress from the wedding and everything. When you're REALLY stressed you may skip your period.

there's a kind of jab whereby it can delay your periods. you can go to your doc and ask more about it. also, if you are on pills, then you can delay your period by prolonging the intake of your pills daily. hope this helps.

talk to your husband to be - explain that you will want to wait a few days to consummate the marriage - he should be understanding of your feelings.
best wishes
Merry Christmas!
