Yes, for some women. I get serious headaches and I also get breast pain before my period. It's from hormonal changes.

Yes it is normal due to the drop in hormones right before your period. RIght before your period your hormones drop and can cause headaches, mood swings, breast tenderness, along with many other things. Some birth control pills can help such as a monophasic pill. This is a pill that has a constant level of hormone versus a triphasic pill like ortho tricyclin. This has three levels of hormones.

If you want something to help. You can try wild yam cream, which you can get at a health food center, or at a GNC. This contains a natural hormone. This may help with the headaches. Vitamin E oil tablets can help with the breast tenderness. If you are a coffee drinker, chocolate eater, you can decrease this or eliminate this at least 1-2 weeks before your period. The wild yam and vitamin E, you can take and use daily and should help. This always happens to me and has for years and years. This helps me a lot.

Hope this is helpful.

You could've taken the test for it too soon and got a false reading. I"d take another test, even if a home pregnancy test kit. Be sure it's easy to read as with a yes or no not just a plus or minus sign if you get one. Best to find out for sure on it. I'd rather want to know. IF it's still negative make a dr. appt.

I had this and I found that exercise really helped. For me, doing exercise around day ten of my cycle results in a lot less breast pain when I get my period -- no idea why, but it works for me.
