I am seriously thinking about donating some of my eggs. I have two children already. one a teenager and the other is 11. I dont plan to have any more kids and i know that eggs are needed for ivf. I wouldnt want them to be used for any other reason than to help somebody else who isnt as fortunate as myself. I am a healthy 31 yr old women and am very health- havent even had a cold for years. Any info would be greatly appreciated. If you have been through the procedure, please could you tell me what happens and does it take long and does it hurt? Thanks.

I'd be careful. It's a really honorable thing to do but with the new change in law it could come back to bite you on the backside.
The new law in place means that anyone donating eggs or sperm is listed as a donor in open notes and any future children created with eggs or sperm can contact you later in life.
Think about it carefully and good luck whatever your decision.

Sperm is lots much less confusing to donate than an egg is. All you're able to do is spill in a cup once you're male. for a girl there is fairly some surgical operation in touch. Plus women people basically have a constrained style of eggs on a similar time as men can constantly produce sperm.

I can't really tell you what will happen as yet because I only just had my first consultation. I'm 21 and thats what I'm doing aswel. One thing I do know is that you have to be under the age of 35, so don't think about it for too long.
I really think it's somthing you should do though... My sister had IVF after spending 6years trying to find out why she couldn't have children & now has the most beautiful little girl in the world.
If donating is going to make someone else as happy as my sister then I say go for it! You don't really have anything to lose & you can change someones life!

Hope all goes well

a friend of mine had it...she has 3 kids and she doesn't want more, like you, she wanted to share the joy and blessing with other people. she said it doesn't hurt at all....and her life is going just great now. but am not sure how long it took I'll try to ask her later today...
