Well this is the quadrillion dollar question, isn't it? I think it's always a concern because the effects of human rights abuse, as well as enforcement, can be felt (regardless as to what degree) around the world.

In all honesty though, we must always remember that happiness is subjective/relative and most of these problems take more to cure than just invasion by foreign "supervisors". Sure the problems can get very bad in some countries but once the problems are overcome by the nations involved, it stands as a sort of paramount achievement on which a better society can be built. How is a nation to appreciate a better/fixed society if they weren't the ones fighting and (sometimes) dying for it?

Well not in a direc cause but overall places like Iraq (which despite the lac of WMDs the regime still needed overthrowing) or N.Korea I really dislike dictatorships. Also the military coup in Fiji is a worry (the Commander pronounced himself as preident, surprise)

They are.

Human rights issues in other countries affect us directly and indirectly. They can result in increased legal and illegal immigration and can impact visitors from the U.S. and other countries.

We should be concerned about human suffering.

I would say we should care in some reasonable way about animals, but I don't favor commitment on the scale human rights might deserve.

I'm concerned about human rights everywhere, including this country. Capital punishment is a violation and so is torture and imprisonment without due process.
Merry Christmas everyone.

i don't really care, because it's just a matter which will never get right...there is always something, someone that will make it all wrong and/or take advantage for their own goods..
or maybe i just dont care because i cant make it right! so what's the use of caring?

i believe animals should be left alone!
