so like i was saying i turn it on it starts to load up gets to the screen that says Windows XP. And then all of a sudden it reboots and does the same thing loads then gets to the Windows XP screen then reboots...i am going crazy here. please help me. Oh its a laptop Toshiba Satellite M55-S3314 Model if that helps

I work for Dell as a technician i've seen that happen before. It usually means you have a bad power supply (not too expensive). It could also mean you have a bad motherboard (expensive!). I hope it's still under warranty. To get it fixed you'll have to call Toshiba and schedule a repair.

an even more simple cause for this could be that the switch onoff button is somehow jammed and gets stuck. I've seen it happen

One possible cause could be low battery back-up, but if it is recurring then u might need to reinstall the OS
