A misogynist is a man who hates women as much as women hate other women.

A mysogenist is someone who deeply hates women and things (traits) associated with women and femininity.

While "wrong" seems to apply to hatred of anyone just because of what they are, there is kind of an added element to twisted and sick in the roots of mysogeny.

Many mysogenists pretend not to be and act like very nice people. Somewhere along the way, though, their hatred of women shows up.

Misogyny is hatred or strong prejudice against women. The word comes from the Greek words μίσος (misos, "hatred") + γυνη (gunê, "woman"). Compared with anti-woman sexism or misandry (hatred or fear of, or strong prejudice against men), misogyny is viewed in feminist theory as a political ideology [citation needed] - similar to racism or anti-Semitism - that justifies and maintains the subordination of women by men.

In other words Misogyny = hatred of women. Of course it is wrong to hate a whole Sex. Just as it is wrong to hate a whole race or a whole country.

It means a manipulative woman, more than likely a feminist has decided to call you one in a lame attempt to have you obtain Her Worship's approval as a non-misogynist by jumping through all manner of hoops.

I believe that's what it means, so yeah it is wrong..

Dictonary.com defines Misogyny: (n.) hatred, dislike or mistrust of women and Misogynist: (n) a misanthrope who dislikes women in particular [syn: woman hater]...

I guess it's really up to you to define whether it is really wrong.
