Prior to the Championship Trophi Tournament played in India
Shoiab Aktar and Mohd. Asif, the Fast Bowlers of Pakistan were
tested positive in the Dope Test carried out. Hence both of them were banned from playing cricket for 2 years and 1 year respectively. They filed appeal against the above punishment and the Appallete Authority waived the punishment awarded to both ot them.
Hope the matter is clear to you now.

Shoaib Akhtar, who, along with fellow fast bowler Mohammad Asif, was exonerated of doping offences and had his long-term ban lifted by an appeals tribunal appointed by the Pakistan Cricket Board.

He was banned for doping but now cleard of it and is allowed to play again becuase it was proven he hasn't taken the drugs deliberately
And in reply to first answer !!!
Sir/Ma'am...........Pakistan is doing much better even without Shoaib and Pakistan has never felt His absence..though he is realy good for Pakistan but we have numbers of fast bowlers who can replace him anytime.......Just see the result of recent test WI VS Pak...... Pakistan has won it by 2-0.....Umer Gul and Shahid Nazir are doing very well...Shoaib is not the last fast bowler for Pakistan. So so can't say that this decision is made just because Pakistan is nothing without Shoaib...Pakistan can play very well even in his absence.and it is proved.

Shoaib is a megalomaniac, sex crazy Pakistani bowler. He was taking drugs to improve his performance. They threw him out for two years. Then suddenly the Pakis realised they would be kaput without him. So they have cleared him of all drug related offences. Now (within 2 months) he is back in action.
