Raja Ram Mohan Roy. He was a social reformer. In those days there was a lot of evil in society like child marriage, dowry, burning of women on their husband's funeral pyre, infanticide etc. Raja Ram Mohan Roy together with the British who were ruling India at that time tried to stamp out all these evils . Mostly women and girls suffered from these horrendous evils.
