I keep getting text messages from advertisments on buying something.. it's in spanish.. and the people are wasting my text messages!! I only get 400 free text messages.. Cmon.. and they texted me at least 200 times no doubt! Is there any.. ANY way I can stop them from texting me.. and it's like they text me 5 times in a row.. 40 word long texts.. gosh.. I even called the company that got me my phone. They can't do anything!!
So i'm gonna have to pay after " I " waste the texts.. I have a samsung cell and I keep trying to block "in coming messages" but it doesn't list "text messages".. Anyone got any ideas how to stop the texts?

This will depend on the people that are sending you the messages, as well as your service provider.. tmobile for example has filters built in to their website that once you're registered you can use to block spam emails and I believe sms if you have the # they're coming from, I am also told that the www.donotcall.gov the do not call list applies towards text messages as well as calls so if you can get the company who's sending you the junk messages information you may be able to have complaints filed against them, it could also possibly be that your # is registered on some website which happened to an acquaintance of mine for some contest or another and they used that to send junk similar to what you're receiving, if there's any sort of identifying info there you could again check into the website link.. finally if it started out like this when you first got your phone, it could be something related to the last person who had it, and then lost their # for not paying their bell for example.. but the other company still had that # on their to send list, many of these junk companies don't ever update their lists for that sort of thing

Call your phone company and ask the customer service people. Not the place where you bought the phone, but the company that sells you the plan.
One possibility is to block texts from a particular number. I don't know if it's possible to block texts from just one number, but you can ask.
Another possibility is to have your phone company disable text messaging completely.
You should also be able to contact the company that sends you the messages and request that you be removed from their list.

Oh yeah, fallen has a good idea!
I'm not sure about the first answerer's idea. My phone company charges to receive messages, and I think they still count if I don't open them. I've never tried.

I don't know what you have for cell service but I have had three different carriers. None of them charge me for "receiving" text messages. You might want to check into that.

If they do charge you for it, just open the text messages of those that you know. Not opening them to begin with you won't be charged the text message.

I just read a new story that you can expect more of this soon if you do not call the national do not call list and have your number added otherwise companies soon are going to start selling numbers.
