I love country music, but Nashville has been destroying it lately. Now, it's all about loving god and being proud Americans. That's why I'm more into Texas country, though i wouldn't call it the best genre. No matter what genre you like, there's still gonna be some bands trying to ruin it.

It is the blues, sweetie! With a simple 3 chord progression, it is the grand daddy of all modern music. It stole from classical tradition, evolved into 'everyday folk' music, wrapped itself around pain, joy, and sex, and there isn't a musician alive worth thier 'salt', that hasn't drawn from the blues in some form.
Look at it this way...........All the great artists that people respect will say they have covered a blues tune or wrote thier own. At the beginning of it all, was someone got the blues.

I'm pretty partial to the 80's stuff. The hard rock "hair bands" and the "new wave" stuff as well. These days newer country on a general basis. The 80's music brings gack the "good ole days".

The best of the best music genre for me is HEAVY METAL. No music can compare to this music. Why ??
Because this music is so "moving", never stand in one condition, always mobile like its music.
This music can give you the truth about why a heart can be so soft in one side and also also can be so tough in the other side.
This music never lie to you, this music give you what you want with its speed, toughness, roughness, brutality and screamo.
This music can give you a lyric that you will never see in other music genre, the lyrics tell what is in the heart of the one who write it., the one who tells about what are in his heart and what have happened in his eyes.
This music can give you a spirit to light up your life, its make you tough to face what is going on with the world.
This music can make you like crazy when you listen to it, you can jump, shake your head like idiot, and bring your to the loudness of the music.
So hail to you if you are the same with me, keep the steel in your heart.

i don't believe there's such a thing. you can judge music that just like you wont judge art that way. i like several types of music and for me none of them are better than another. the best kind of music is the one that can make you feel and talks to you, regardless of the genre!

Country. Most people have this stereotype of the genre (that it's all about getting drunk and cheating) which is true for some songs but not all. Of course, sometimes you need to hear a song about someone cheating and getting wasted :)
P.S. I agree with country_val. I'm becoming addicted to texas country also!

I think should be country - I supposed the first music created start out from some simpliest instrument which is clean and clear.

R'n'B because it is soothing and can be romantic or just mellow or it talks about things like breaking up, just whatever you want but with a smooth vocal usually
