I disscussed the matter with many people. They also opined so. But why? Ask to know. Ask to let know.If genuine answer comes, he may be honerd, ok. But not in mass!!! not for all answer.
I hope this issue should be taken in consideration of the Yahoo authority. Let us all appeal. Good questioner should also be rewarded.

The reward for a good question is to be posted on the feature. the best questions become featured questions on the home page. A person who enjoys asking questions, would also enjoy being one of the people named on the featured questionl That is an honor, not all questions are feature questions but all types of questions can become featured.

The only reason I can think of would be to discourage really large numbers of people from asking really dumb questions--for example, the people that continuously post ridiculously racist or hateful questions for the extent prupose of causing trouble. I suppose maybe, without the 5 point deduction, more people would engage in this practice and possibly turn Yahoo Answers into a larger cesspool than it is already. Other than that, the penalty doesn't make any sense.

there is no end to learning and inquiry-- probably that is why yahoo feels that number of questions in relation to answers may get out of bounds and that is why there is this system of '' asking questions costs us'' this is my feeling.
