yep,its hard to find, but real friendship can endure anything. I've known my best friend since I was 3 and we can go for months without talking (shes on the other side of the nation) but the second we start to talk its like old time.
I've had many friends though that have come and gone, your friends change as your life changes.

I believe in real friendship. Real friendship is having someone you can talk to and be yourself around. And just because it's called friendship doesn't mean family is excluded. It could be that your looking for friendship in all the wrong places.

They say that if you have 1 or 2 real friends in a lifetime then you are blessed. The rest of the people you meet are acquaintances. You sound depressed and if one of your close friends let you down I can understand why you might feel like this.

It isn't so bad when you get used to being alone.

I believe in real friendship. As I know it can happen. I think friendship is about being there when no one else is. About being able to sit in silence as well as talk all day. It is about a simple human need for companionship and having something in common. Only we choose to complicate it with our own selfish desires, wants and miscommunications.

Friendship has always existed. Even the ancient poets speak endlessly about the wonders of true friendship. People have clearly experienced true friendship, especially if the *poets* have experienced it.

Some crappy friendships aren't really enough to dub all friendships crappy, much like a bad coffee doesn't make all coffees bad (except to me, who dislikes all coffee)

There will always be ups and downs in any relationship be it boyfriend-girlfriend or son/daughter and parents relationship. To conclude that there isn't any real relationship in this world maybe too harsh a decision. Go out, meet the world you'll be surprised that are many nice people around.

Yes I believe in real friendship because I have had dog and cat fights with one of them but she is still my best friend. I hope I never have to see her abusive side she used to bite me when she misunderstood things. the bites actualy left marks on my body.

Real friendship takes years, maybe decades to prove! My "real" friends are those who have stood by me, and I them for over 30 years. You may like someone, but a real friend takes decades!

I have had the same feeling you've had. I was betrayed and hurt by a so called friend. A good friend is hard to find! But I've been friends with someone for 23 years now and we're still best friends and we've never had a fight!!

You're right, that is sad. I wonder how old you are. Sometimes it takes longer to find the right friends who truly care about you, but don't give up. They say to find a true friend you have to be one, but I also say you have to learn how to recognize them. They aren't always the people who bowl you over the first time you meet them, but they are the ones who are kind hearted, and who give at least as much as they take.
