Well, the scare of 9/11 was incredible, so it is understandable that we handed the president, and executive branch, a little more power than they would normally have. Never the less, i think that the patriot act has overstayed its welcome. It should not be allowed to become a "normal" part of American life, that would be a very dangerous thing.
Bush's reaction to 9/11 and the war in Afghanistan is also understandable. There was a clear and direct link between Afghanistan and 9/11, no one will deny that. Iraq was a different matter and had completely different calculations and reasons. Time will only tell whether Bush really did believe that there were weapons of mass destruction in Iraq. I'm not really sure he did.
Had we spent even a quarter of what we spent in Iraq in Afghanistan, that country would have been very, very different than it is now. It's sad that there has been very little progress in Afghanistan, outside of the major towns.
Concerning domestic policy, i believe Bush has been more or less successful. The economy really isn't doing that bad, but the increasing debt and budget deficit are a concern that needs to be addressed. Bush should not turn a blind eye to this. This is my main issue with his administration. He was handed a great budget and nice surplus. He should have worked to preserve that.

i don't need to watch it to know that bush has been granted (and in some cases, has simply ASSUMED) powers far beyond any previous president...congress has, at best, sat on the sidelines watching passively, and at worst, actively handed over the reins to the executive branch...the courts are packed with repubs and even when they have stepped in, bush has ignored or gone around them...and as for the press...they've been kissing bush's hind parts since day one, and on sept 11, 2001 they dropped to their knees and have stayed there ever since...and what did the electorate do? we re-elected the stupid jerk!!!! check history-the same thing happened to the romans-they were attacked by pirates, and in response the emperor assumed even more power and the rights of roman citizens diminished, and their senate did the same as ours-nothing...and the average citizen responded the same as we are...with a huge helping of apathy! we're on the same course, with the same likely result...

He is a man full of energy. He has the capacity to implement his decision with full force. He did not trust Saddam and decided to kick him out. He wanted to put Iraq on democratic path but his Iraq supporters failed to control the situation. He is competent enough to solve Israel Arab conflict. Attack on Afghanistan was unavoidable as then Ruler refused to hand over the man responsible for attack on WTC and American nation is very sensitive about their security. Super powers made their policies keeping an eye on future. They work on their global agenda.

He will leave us with a lot of debt. The most positive things that he has done have benefitted Corporate America. His legacy will not be a good one if he is unable to come up with something that can turn his low approval ratings around.

A mixed bag. The actions with respect to 9/11 in Afghanistan and Iraq were justifiable. His plan to deal with Social Security was excellent in principle. but not well presented. He did not do nearly enough to control domestic spending, and I have little use for his cozying up to the religious right. I give him 6.5 on a scale of 10.

Instead of US appointed judges try Saddam Husain, iraq appointed judges should try Mr.Bush. Saddam Hussain didnot do any crime in US whereas Bush is guilty of killing several innocent people in Iraq.

He is just living human kind like you and me at loss and stranded in planet of apes.
He is also like you and me who made blunders and slip-ups with human errors like everyone else in planet of apes.
And we also learn by trials and errors during our life time in making a monkey out of ourselves too in planet of apes.
Wonder why everyone is blindly kicking his butts in planet of apes.
Not surprising his poor father is in tears seeing his son living in misery in planet of apes.
When will we ever learn to be mankind in planet of apes?
