I don't think that church/religion actually does exist for the benefit of non-members. I would think the Red Cross comes a bit closer.

What about humanitarian organizations like Red Cross or whatnot? Surely they exist for the sole purpose of helping non-members?

Nobody benefits from any church, except for the church officials. They get to keep the mentally weak's money..
