I am 22 and this girl is 19 with a 2 year old son. I dated her for a little over a month and i thought things were great. It felt like we connected, we had lots of fun, and i enjoyed hanging out with her son. At first i was wary about dating someone with a child but i decided to at least try it. But she has goals like goin to college herself and she seemed like such a strong woman which i was very attracted to. She shocked me by telling me we are on very different paths and she basically left me with the feeling that she wanted someone who was a security blanket and a replacement dad. The father passed away before he was born so i think she had a lot of issues to work out. But after all this i feel taken advantage of,i felt she should have given our relationship a better chance since i took the chance to date a girl with a child. I cared for her alot and it seemed like i was there just as a security blanket for her. Should i ever date any1 with a kid again?

this is a complex situation and i agree with you on some points but i dont think she meant to hurt you women like are looking for a father figure to take the place of the father thats not there. but in answer to your question it really up to you if you are ready to settle down and be a father and support a women and a child then yes you should dat some one with kids again but if your not ready for this kind of responsability then know you not date some with kids again.

No two persons are the same. Having one bad experience does not mean you'll experience similar incidence the next time you date someone with a child. Move on. She sounds like she has her future all planned out thus you should respect that.

Every women is different. Sorry that she treated you this way. It's better that you know now just what she really wanted, before this relationship got any deeper. She sounds like a very shallow person.

not until you are older and can support a child. you don't date the woman, you date the familiy. you date someone because you look for someone to have a life with.

she probably doesn't feel you are father material and is looking for a guy to be like a dad to her kid. she must really love her kid and wants the best for him
