Firstly, those "free scans" are nothing more than market tools 99% of the time. They make you believe that you have spyware so that you buy their product.

The best way to find if you really have spyware is to use a trusted scanner. There are true freeware solutions that will do just that (AdAware and Spybot) that don't have a "free trial scan" and will just get rid of what is on your computer.

If you have bought trusted software like something like Norton, then you should believe that program as opposed to any "free scan" that you find on the web. If not, then try the two that I suggested.

THE MAIN KEY to removing these threats is to BE OFFLINE when you run them. Turn off the computer while THEY'RE still on, so the checker can check before they can run again. Run them a second time, AND, LASTLY, run one that is not ON THE affected system!

These programs can remove even the hardest to remove trojans. When you run these, you MUST BE OFFLINE, AND you need to restart the computer WHILE the programs are running. OTHERWISE, they sometimes can not be removed. Disable all other virus ans spyware software except these and remove them permamnently.

You need these: Trendmicro Housecall, Spybot Search and Destroy and AVG Free Antivirus.

NOTE: Get updates first, THEN disconnect from the Web when you run these programs, then restart, do NOT CONNECT to the Web yet, and run them again. Don't turn off SpyBot when you turn off the system. When at trendmicro, select "Scan Now It's Free"

Firstly dump Explorer as ur browser of choice. Especially if ur using the Version 6th one.

Use Opera or Firefox. They are the safest, antispyware browser.

Never download trial programs as they expire after 10 to 15 days. Removing them is more of a problem than installing them.
Also by removing some of them u could lose some of ur vital (.dll )files

Never download .exe files especially from ur e-mail.

Dont use random free software unless u know that it is a good & famous software. Download if only from sites u know are good & hacker safe.

Before all that u ve to Format ur harddisk, Install Windows, Install Opera -my choice (ur yahoo mail beta - wont work with it) / or firefox -(i nver tried it).

If u plan on installing Explorer 7 be sure ur not using pirated Windows Operating System (Explorer checks for validation of OS) else after detecting the pirated software the operating system refuses to boot.

Best of luck.....mate..........u ll need loads of that......since u do not seem to be a software / hardware guy nor seem to know such a guy.

I suggest that you try to carryout system restore to a day previous to the day when there was no virus or any problems. It may be a few weeks or months back. You have to decide the date. Detailed instructions are posted at http://fixit.in/systemrestore.html
The problem is likely to be solved. Then,You insatll a standard antivirus soft ware such as Norton, AVG , Avast ( free antivirus software and Ad-aware, Ewido ( free spyware removers). You can download free softwares at
http://fixit.in/antivirus.html and http://fixit.in/spywareremover.html

Have to agree with answer from Byron. There are a lot of programes out there that will give you false positives to lure you in to buying them. http://www.spywarewarrior.com/rogue_anti-spyware.htm is a good site to check out the baddies. Go with spybot & adaware , also in addition you can use ewido & spywareblaster, both are also free & do a good preventive & eradication job on spyware & the likes.

http://www.download.com/SpywareBlaster/3000-8022_4-10486084.html?tag=lst-0-1
Also this is a very good website you can trust for all your needs.

First, now a days, it is quite frequent to get more results with different scanners. As for you problem, it sounds like you are hosed. It would take a windows expert hours of work to try to get rid of all of that and even then there is no way to be sure there are no reminents of the infection left. If I where you I would back up the data you need, reformat the hard drive and reinstall windows.

your computer slows down because of you use all those anti-spyware all at once. just keep the one that finds and erase mostly parasites. one good antispyware and one good antivirus are enough for security for one computer. if you can't decide which antispyware program to keep, think of which is the most usefull and has better features. here are reviews and downloads of 72 mainly used antispyware software:

hope this helps.

Yes you need to format and reinstall did your computer come with a recovery disk? If it did use them to format and reinstall your computer software and be more careful of free downloads. doing so will make you not need to do the format and reinstall every week like one of my old roomates was. And i reccomend either norton or WindowsLiveOneCare you can get norton at walmart or http://www.norton.com WindowsLiveOneCare can give you a free trial of their software from http://www.microsoft.com
